Description:
Washburn’s distinctive Idol body shape was originally created in 1999 and was modern take on the single cutaway guitar. Ideally suited for the guitarist looking to express their uniqueness and individuality, the Idol is a fresh take on the single cutaway electric. The Washburn Idol Standard is inspired by the original Washburn WI64. The WIT draws inspiration from the original Washburn WI36, originally outfitted with a single bridge pickup and lipstick pickup at the neck.
This performance guitar offers deluxe features like brilliant gold hardware and an exquisite quilt top. This modern take on the single cutaway is quite innovative in its own way. A wider base allows a thinner body to be used without balance issues. The set neck allows a slim neck joint and offers comfortable access to the upper register. Guitar is 100% fully functional and plays fantastic! Extremely durable guitar with a sturdy and reliable feel. The body, neck, and headstock of the guitar do show some obvious signs of wear. The guitars pickgaurd has a fair amount of pick brush marks. The back of the guitar body has a visible amount of buckle rash as well as a few small nicks and slight indents. The edges of the neck as well as the edges of the back and front of the body have some small chips in the paint/clearcoat of the guitar. The string nut also has a small chip all the way on the right side by the high E-string groove. Headstock of the guitar also has a small chip on the front and back side on edges at the top of the headstock. A couple small indents can also be found in the paint on the back of the neck. Guitar has scuffs and small bump marks around the bottom of the guitar by the strap button. Tuning pegs/machines have some natural corrosion. Hardware on front of body including the bridge, saddle, pickup covers, pickup selector switch, and mounting screws for pickgaurd and pickup mounts have a degree of the gold finish worn off. Gold finish on pickup covers is mostly worn off. the gold finish on the saddle and saddle mounting pegs is still mostly in place with some light corrosion. Gold finish on bridge is mostly worn of on the top but still remains on the sides and height adjustment pegs of the bridge. Pickup selector switch still has most of its gold finish and feels firm and solid. Pickup selector switch ring nut has lost most of it's gold finish around the outside and the grooving on the outside of the ring nut has been worn down a little bit. Strap buttons remain in good shape with little erosion of the gold finish and are still held firmly in place by original hardware. The guitars fretboard shows very little signs of wear. The individual frets have a normal amount of wear and have great feel and are smooth to the touch. Frets/neck have great playability and feel comfortable. Tone and volume control knobs show little signs of wear and still have a smooth and durable feel with no rattle or looseness. Plastic and original labeling still on control cavity cover on the back of the guitar.
Despite the guitars cosmetic blemishes, it remains an excellent instrument with plenty of versatility to offer and a whole lot of life left to give! Feel free to message us if you have any unanswered questions about the guitars current condition!
